We've recently been discussing the importance of being able to come up with a theme for texts we've read or watched. This is an essential skill to have going forward in your careers as Humanities students. Remember that THEME is the moral or lesson that the author is trying to tell you about life, society, or being a human being. The theme of a text is closely related to the CENTRAL CONFLICT of the text. We also have developed our understanding of what it takes to properly read and digest a short story, as they are such dense and challenging works, chalked full of symbolism.
