We started to work on this activity on Thursday, and will continue to work on this today!
The purpose of this activity is for you to demonstrate to me that you understand what a lobbyist does, and how they do it! (They petition, schmooze, and rally decision makers to sway them to make a certain decision!) We discussed what lobby groups do, and how they do it. It's important to understand the power that these wealthy companies, and the lobby groups who work with them, have. Tobacco, Petroleum, Agricultural, Mining, and many other important industries in Canada lobby the Canadian Parliament and the MPs working there to help benefit them, sometimes to the detriment of Canadians, and our reputation in the world. To extend your understanding, head over to youtube to watch some videos about Lobbying the government. http://www.macleans.ca/news/canada/in-the-lobby/We started this assignment today. Please feel free to ask me for any clarification! This is DUE FRIDAY!A good website to use for professional quality pamphlets/brochures is: canva.com
