We also discussed the idea of editing for paragraphs in our own work.
Paragraphs are a way to micro-manage large ideas. For example, if you are writing an essay on a character from a novel, you wouldn't want one large chunk of text. You would want paragraphs which separate sub-topics such as: physical traits, emotional traits, character growth, etc... You also need to start new paragraphs in stories every time there is a new voice/person speaking. We practiced some paragraphing in class. It is a vital step in the organizing portion of editing your written work.
